Rod H trusted me with his 1959 Fender Stratocaster for a minor tuneup. Being a artifact of guitar lore the first rue was - Do no harm. My first impulse upon inspecting it was to re-crown the frets and clean the oxidation from the tail. But a cool head prevailed and the mojo since 59 was maintained. Good thing the player in me didn't prevail. My vintage buddies agreed. The case is OHSC tweed classic Fender. I understand a matching tweed amp purchased at the same time accompanies the guitar. Some smoots wasteland but enough left for the historians. Pots and switches were carefully cleaned to remove the glitches and some new Fender bullet strings installed. Here are a couple of images of the instrument.
